b3d Studio provides a drag 'n drop timeline editing environment allowing you to easily and rapidly edit 3D animation clips, much as you'd edit video clips in a video editing package.

b3d Studio also imports scripts that have been written in screenplay format, providing syntax, branch error checking, and story-play testing to thoroughly test the playback of your scripts prior to production.

b3d Studio examines dialogue sound tracks to provide automatic character lipsync, radically reducing the time and effort involved in developing your animation. And b3d Studio allows you to tag each object with a language and rating, allowing you to create multi-language content at low cost - and of course the characters always lipsync to the language they're talking!

b3d Studio's real-time 3D engine provides a WYSIWYG editing environment - no more waiting for video clips to render. b3d Studio's compression module analyzes every scene in the movie, extracts only the data that is relevant, compresses it, and optimizes it for CD and Internet. In addition, b3d Studio PRO allows you to output your projects as real-time 3D for television broadcast, giving you a cost-efficient "author once, deliver on multiple platforms" production platform.

b3d Studio comes in two flavors: The regular version is for single users, the Pro version for studios with larger development teams. Additional 3D tools from Brilliant Digital Entertainment include the b3d Exporters, allowing users who work in 3D Studio Max or Maya to export their work to the b3d format; and the b3d Projector (now in version 3), a free download that plays the b3d creations and can be automatically downloaded and installed for the user when necessary when they first encounter b3d content. The player allows for the creation of 3D displays within Web pages, or as in a separate pop-up window.
