Atomikos Transactions is a 100% Java transaction manager that you can embed in your application to get transactional capabilities according to Sun's JTA standard and the Web service transaction standards. Transactions can also be installed in almost any J2EE application server to give you enhanced transaction features.

Transactions is compact (600 KB), linearly scalable, and integrates with third-party JMS or JDBC.

Other features of this product are its support for nested transactions, its support for full and distributed crash recovery, and Atomikos' proprietary method of dealing with heuristic exceptions.

The product runs even on a J2SE platform.

The documentation includes a 50 page manual on JTA along with several example applications with source code.
